The promotion of reading played a prominent role in the cultural policies of the Second Republic. In this context, various publishing houses and printing presses linked to the libertarian movement played a fundamental part in disseminating the new emancipatory discourses.

This pamphlet, published in 1931 by the Barcelona-based publisher Biblioteca Anarquista Internacional (BAI), was written by the educator José Antonio Emmanuel, an anarchist philanthropist and driving force behind, among other projects, schools for orphaned children, with the aim of liberating them from ignorance and emancipating them from the obscurantist power of the Catholic Church. In it, he attempts to convey to the sons and daughters of working-class families a simple explanation of libertarian principles and how to put them into practice.

This edition, faithful to the author's original text, features the illustrations created by Fábrica de Estampas for the 2017 Argentine edition. Each of the anarchist postulates is accompanied by an engraving, which manages to convey, in a simple way, the beauty of the world that is intended to be built.

Although the title suggests otherwise, Anarchy explained to children It appeals to readers of all ages with the aim of promoting a libertarian education, one that rejects all fanaticism and oppression. It advocates for a society where children grow up free and inspired by values ​​such as mutual support, equality among individuals, universal love, and human solidarity.

Beyond its bibliographic value, this work is an invitation to think freely, a bridge to understanding anarchist ideology. In the current political climate, engaging in the exercise of historical memory, rescuing valuable texts and experiences from oblivion, takes on undeniable significance.
