Club Ivoire brings together a collection of photographs of the facades of Ivorian nightclubs, taken in 2023 in the regions of Abidjan and Yamoussoukro. These venues are presented here neutrally, in broad daylight, without the artifice or crowds associated with their nighttime activity, offering an objective record of the local club culture and its codes, as well as the contemporary Ivorian landscape. The series thus offers a unique, contemporary look at this West African country and the vibrant energy of its urban jungles. The project, which comprises several hundred images, continues a series of similar previous works on the facades of nightlife venues in France, Spain, and the United States (After Party, carried out in France between 2011 and 2018; Gentlemen’s Club, carried out in the United States in 2019; and Discoteca, carried out in Spain in 2020).
