The Artist’s Atlas: Tokyo is a city guide unlike any other: Tokyo as seen, experienced, and loved by the artists who call it home.
Conceived by Cécile Poimboeuf-Koizumi, the book brings together 15 artists, each of whom shares a deeply personal map of the city: their favorite cafes, hidden streets, late-night bars, bookstores, galleries, and neighborhoods. More than a travel guide, it is an intimate portrait of Tokyo through a creative lens.
Born in 1987 to a Japanese mother and a French father, Cécile Poimboeuf-Koizumi grew up between two cultures and spent her early years in Tokyo, a city that has remained a central element of her imagination and identity. After years of receiving questions about where to go, eat, stay, or wander in Tokyo, she decided to invite several artists to answer these questions themselves.
Somewhere between an atlas, an artist’s book, and a cultural journal, *The Artist’s Atlas: Tokyo* offers readers a unique way to delve into the city: through the people who create within it.
