The mandrake is one of the best-documented gynecological plants. It is also the only plant in the European context that has historically been depicted as a half-human, half-plant creature. The mandrake has been, is, and continues to be haunted by stories. Could its many stories hold a key to diverting our minds from well-trodden paths? What if the mandrake harbored the potential for new orders and world-creation; for a cosmopoiesis of mandrakes?
Three Becomes Two Becomes One Becomes None explores the medicinal and magical plant mandrake and the many stories that have grown up around it throughout history. Artist Leonie Brandner's writing moves from the beginning of recorded storytelling to ancient Egyptian and Greek mythology, tracing the lines mandrake has left behind in medical texts, folklore, and ultimately, the plant's impact on the witch hunts of the Middle Ages. Gently weaving her own perceptions and encounters with the plant through her rigorous historical research, Brandner creates a kaleidoscopic picture of the human and plant imaginations across time.

Should you be unsatisfied with your purchase, you can return the product within the first month. Please note that the cost of return shipping falls under your responsibility.
For in-store returns, we provide a refund in the form of a gift voucher. However, for online purchases, we issue a direct refund given that not being able to physically see the product does have its limitations.
In case of a defective product, we will fully reimburse the cost of the product and the shipping expenses once we receive and inspect the item.
