The little ones are always asking themselves questions because there are many things they don't know. But sometimes it doesn't hurt to question what seems obvious. The questions, the doubts, put our brain in tension, cause millions of neural connections and exercise it for the development of knowledge. Even an object as recognizable as an apple can trigger our mind and be the origin of an extraordinary digression that, in the case of our protagonist, leads him to consider «And if it were my great-great-great-grandfather, who has reincarnated as an apple and comes to make me a visit" or "Maybe it's all apples except me."

Sentences beginning with "could be" or "maybe" set in motion a litany of assumptions, all logically based, not just about the nature of the object itself; but also of its way of being, of its past and future history, even creating an affective bond between object and subject.
