Dirk Vis (1981) writes fiction, columns, screenplays, and essays on art and technology, primarily in Dutch. Vis lives and works in Amsterdam. He studied Image and Language at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and Graphic Design at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam. His non-fiction and fiction works have been published in Dutch: a limited edition of the bestseller (2009), the ebook *The Reality-Essay* (2017), and a series of texts in various formats and media, such as chapbooks, performances, websites, etc. He has directed several video works based on his texts. Vis is a contributing editor of the Dutch literary magazine *De Gids* (The Guide) and founder of *De Internet Gids*. He is a research professor at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and a professor of theory at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, and has also given visiting lectures at several other European art universities. Vis is currently compiling the *Indexicalist Manifesto*.
