What is sound? There are nearby sounds, like a voice or a heartbeat, and distant sounds, like the wind blowing through the trees. Some sounds can be frightening, like a lion's roar; others make us feel good, like a father's or mother's voice. In fact, sounds convey images and sensations, tell stories, and move us. Many sounds together create rhythm and music. And silence? There are silences that need to be filled with words, and other precious ones that need to be cherished...

A playful and poetic book that manages to represent and explain to children an abstract concept like sound in an original and fun way.
