When we wake up, the first thing we perceive is the touch of our sheets, the light with which the lamp we turn on surrounds us, the shape and color of the breakfast tableware... From that moment until the end of the day, when we close once again eyes on the textile of the pillow, our body will have come across and developed with an infinity of diverse objects. These are modest, common and ordinary things that we constantly use without paying much attention to them. But objects are also constant companions in our lives and, as such, he affirms Soetsu Yanagi , they must be made with care and built to last. They should be treated with respect and even affection. And they must perfectly combine beauty and utility.

Soetsu Yanagi is an essential thinker hitherto unpublished in Spanish, and one of the key voices of the 20th century in drawing attention to the value of everyday objects and anonymous crafts. This book, which compiles the short essays by the Japanese critic, will teach us to look around us with new eyes and admire the incredible material and intangible value of anonymous creations, always beautiful and honest, that are part of our daily lives.
