Twenty-One Conversations with Architects brings together more than fifteen years of interviews conducted by the Barcelona-based architecture studio Arquitectura-G, published in the magazine Apartamento since its first issue in 2008. The book—extensive, technical, and profound—interweaves the trajectories of some of the most singular minds in architecture, spanning decades, archives, disciplines, and countries, and placing several generations of architects side by side in a single volume. What began as a contribution to the magazine’s architecture section has transformed into something very different: a portrait of the studio itself, in which its particular obsessions emerge in every conversation—questions about scale, ambiguity, hedonism, bathrooms, dance, or the home understood as a laboratory. By compiling these interviews into an anthology, the architects reveal a series of decisions regarding housing that are deeply personal to their creators; all of them united by a fundamental question: why respond to universal needs with universal forms? What links these houses goes beyond architecture itself: it is not so much about having built them, but about having continued to live within the questions they raised. After twenty-one conversations, Arquitectura-G invites each architect to participate in a new dialogue—selected and compiled by Moisés Puente—, allowing them to converse with one another across time.

About Arquitectura-G
Arquitectura-G is an architecture studio based in Barcelona, founded in 2006 by Jonathan Arnabat, Jordi Ayala-Bril, Igor Urdampilleta, and Aitor Fuentes. Its practice ranges from temporary installations and residential projects to commercial spaces and urban planning, and its work has been widely disseminated in international media. In 2015, they received the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Prize for Emerging Architects. They are also dedicated to teaching, lecturing at the same school where they met. Since 2008, they have directed the architecture section of the magazine *Apartamento*, a collaboration that also allows readers to follow the evolution of their critical thinking.
