Yes, it has been revived in France since 2014, but since its birth in 1946 on the other side of the Atlantic, Holiday has never lost sight of the innovative concept that distinguishes it from other magazines: combining literary journalism with artistic photography.

A magazine where travel was simply the perfect pretext for bringing this vision to life, and which also offered the luxury of time: to discover, observe, and dream. Because, in fact, Holiday is an interlude suspended in time, where from the beginning the idea has not been to lament the past or fantasize about the future, but to savor the journey in between, as Jack Kerouac, one of the magazine's many prestigious contributors, used to say. With these founding principles—those that have made it legendary and still grant it such a special place—in mind, we have created Holiday Interiors and Gardens.

Interior design requires almost as much curiosity as travel and, in its own way, allows us to explore eras, styles, cultures, and continents. Moreover, it is a free-flowing discipline that revels in breaking down the boundaries between creative fields. As proof, one need only consider the interiors designed by Balthus and Cy Twombly, the furniture created by Francis Bacon and Paul Poiret, Dante Ferretti's set designs for Pasolini and Scorsese's films, or even simply the sofa covered in Persian rugs in Sigmund Freud's consulting room.
