Andalusian migration to Catalonia had two major waves: the first in 1920, with several thousand people from Almería fleeing the decline of mining and the weakening of the wine sector; the second, in 1950, when many more thousands of Andalusian emigrants were returned, with light luggage, from Barcelona's Estació de França, to their respective places of origin, on the train from Seville, nicknamed "El Catalán." Emilia López Domingo from Jaén was thirteen years old.
